Job Opportunities at the American Indian Studies CenterThe employment process begins with the opening of a position in the Center. This opening is due to either the creation of a new position or replacement for an existing position. The position can be career, limited, limited/restricted, contract or work study. The Center may hire employees in limited or limited/restricted positions without posting job openings or receiving approval from Campus or Healthcare Human Resources. Employees considered for contract positions may be hired following review and approval from Campus or Healthcare Human Resources of a written employment agreement between the employee and the department. For all career positions and positions that departments want to be advertised, a recruitment process must be completed. Work Study OpportunitiesThe American Indian Studies Center hires both undergraduate and graduate work study students. The Work Study Referral Form must be obtained by students from the Financial Aid Office of the University before a student can be hired by the Center. When the student's Work Study application is completed initially by the Center, any subsequent changes to the work study limit throughout the year are processed by the Financial Aid Office. Limits for employees who are rehired or who are continuing work study students will be updated automatically by the Financial Aid Office through an interface between the Financial Aid, Student Records, and the Personnel/Payroll systems. |
