Message from the Director

Dear AISC friends,

We have received notice that the LA City Council will vote on the proposal to establish Indigenous Peoples Day on November 4 (see below). I strongly encourage those with an interest in this matter to attend the meeting. It is important that our voices be heard.

We will share the final HRC report as soon as it is available.

My best,
Shannon

Indigenous Peoples Day Report

The issue is going to be voted on by City Council today. Human Relations Commission’s report will be the center of the debate. If this change happens, City of LA will be the largest city to change Columbus and acknowledge Indigenous Peoples Day.
