Gathering Native/American Scholars and Artists: A Celebration of Forty Years

On behalf of the faculty, students, and staff of the UCLA American Indian Studies Center, I am honored to invite you to join us on Thursday and Friday, October 22-23, 2009, for a reception and symposium celebrating the 40th anniversary of our center and the American Indian Culture and Research Journal.

This will be an opportunity to recognize and honor the many achievements of the hundreds of scholars, intellectuals, artists, and students who have been affiliated with our program, our books, and our journal since the Center's inception as well as look ahead to the next 40 years. Admission is complimentary, but we respectfully ask you to RSVP by Monday, October 12, 2009.

Parking is available in Lot 2. Parking is complimentary if you reserve by October 12 and check the "parking required" box; otherwise it is $10 per day. For individuals that reserved parking, please visit the parking kiosk at Lot 2 and give the following event name: "American Indian Studies Center 40th Anniversary Symposium" for your parking permit.
